An IREX Collaborative Small Grant 2010 TEA Fellows’ Reflections Regarding the Impact of TEA Program

During Christmas Break, Hugh Bilton and Anna spent a valuable time on editing and organising the articles. In deed, it was incredible to read all TEA articles from different parts of the world:

Dr Terry Janicki, Prof Del Harnish and Shannon Lovett, Waldemar Sedkowski, Oksana Petrova, Nana Tatiashvili, Modou Mbaye, Mutahar Hussain, Saliou Sarr, Irina Barilenko, Rita Banerjee, Efrian Davila Salazar, Varduhi Grigoryan, Erick Fuentes... .

Now, they will be retyped and sent to the authors and Dr Joe McNulty to prepare final version for publishing. Please, do not forget include the pictures of you, your schools/students (as the attachement) and references (in the article).

He is also an international programs coordinator in the Department of Educational Administration at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Articles are expected to be written in a following formula:
Title - Abstract - Key words – Introduction – Development - Conclusion.

Between the text there will be some corresponding pictures (taken by the authors - make sure they are of good quality).
Target audience: It`s designed for current and future TEA, Fellows, US Partner Teachers and their students. In the book, the authors will describe their views on education and new international experiences to challenge and provide thinking on educational issues that we –both teachers and students-face every day. In addition, we wish our book would be a help for our embassies on TEA program.

3. How will be money spent?

We were given $2515 from IREX - within Small Grant Competition. Money goes for publishing the book, communications, postage, and transportation of Waldemar Sedkowski within Poland to meet with the editor and organize the book and work out logistics.

4. How would this book inform current and future TEA international teachers?

• Through the website of University of Nebraska, where except for information about the book we will add the link to our `book blog` to give people a chance to get acquainted with us- the authors, teachers, TEA fellows, friends who decided to work together on the book.

IREX WEBSITES AS WELL

• Thanks to University of Lincoln most of the authors of the book have their own page on the Internet – so We will include links of our blog to the sites and keep people informed

• Some books will be sent to IREX, to our countries` embassies, hosted universities and they will be places in our school and local libraries. Thus, it will be a great source of information on TEA program for those who apply for the program or go for their scholarships.

• In the future, we are planning to run the project together somewhere in Europe (maybe in Poland) to gather all or most authors together and organize an international conference for teachers on TEA program, education and methods of teaching and cultural diversity.

5. Please clarify how the book will be published (hard copy, PDF, etc) and how many copies you will publish.

Our book will be a hard copy. On the Internet we will include information on our book with some sample articles. We will publish 400 HARD Copies. Pdf version will be available too.
